The 4th generation (L405) Range Rover again uses a single monocoque body-to-body, but unlike the previous model, it is made entirely of aluminum, not steel, including a unique high-strength alloy, up to 50% recycled aluminum; and production takes place at an all-new aluminum facility at the Land Rover site in Solihull. The all-aluminum monocoque body design is the first for a 4x4 SUV platform, according to Land Rover, resulting in a remarkably 39 percent lighter body and a reduction of 420 kg (926 lb) compared to its predecessor. Range Rover has a new version of Terrain Response called Terrain Response 2.
